Sharing your Biosimulant Session

Want to share a Biosimulant session with a collaborator or make your work available to anyone with the link? Open the connected Lab and use its Share dialog. This guide shows both options using an EGFR molecular docking project: invite specific people while keeping the Lab private, or choose Make public for wider access.

Step 1: Sign in to Biosimulant Studio

Sign in to Biosimulant Studio. The home screen shows your sessions and the main navigation on the left. You can share work you have already started; there is no need to create a new session.

Step 2: Choose the Lab you want to share

Click Labs in the left sidebar to open My Labs, then select the project you want to share. In this example, we use the EGFR molecular docking Lab. The example Lab is currently private. If you are already inside a session, select Lab page to reach its connected Lab directly. Check the project title before changing access.

Step 3: Open the Share Lab dialog

On the Lab overview page, click Share Lab in the upper-right corner. The Share Lab dialog brings together the Lab link, its current visibility, and the people who have access.

Choose how you want to share:

  • Use Add people to invite specific collaborators.
  • Use Make public to allow anyone with the link to open the Lab.

Copying the link alone does not change a private Lab’s access.

Step 4: Invite specific people

Under People with access, enter your collaborator’s email address in Add people. Choose the appropriate role from the dropdown, such as Viewer, then click Invite.

Use this option when you want to share with selected people while keeping the Lab private.

Step 5: Copy an invitation link and check access

After creating an invitation, use the Copy control beside its invitation link to send it to your collaborator. This is separate from Copy link at the top of the dialog, which copies the Lab address.

Check People with access for accepted collaborators and Waiting to accept for pending invitations.

The screenshot below shows a private Lab with an invitation link and a pending invite; the Private label means the Lab has not been made public.

For a pending invitation:

  • Resend sends it again.
  • Withdraw cancels it.

Use the access list to confirm who can open the Lab before sharing its address.

Step 6: Make the Lab public

For wider access, return to the Share dialog and click Make public beside the Private label. Review and confirm any prompt, then check that the visibility changes to Public. Anyone with the link can then open the Lab. You can use this option instead of inviting people individually.

Step 7: Copy and test the link

Click Copy link at the top of the Share dialog to copy the Lab address.

  • For a public Lab, open it in a private or incognito browser window.
  • For a private invitation, ask the invited person to open the link using the account you invited.

Check that the intended Lab opens and that visitors can see the material you want to share.

If the page requests access or does not display the expected work, return to the Lab and check its visibility and the link you copied.
